Bulletproofing
Your Incident Reports:
|
||||||||||
| If you're
in business, you know that lawsuits are almost inescapable. People will
sue you for almost anything these days. And class action lawyers are out
hunting for targets as if new suits are business ventures for them. When you're in a field or industry that drives a lot of people through your facilities (as in hotels, casinos, resorts, shopping malls, retail stores, discount warehouses, airports, and the like), the numbers of patron incidents can be staggering. For each of these incidents, the protocol is to record the event on an incident report. What your people put on that report can mean the difference between winning or losing the defense of a lawsuit against your company. Jack Tapper, a specialist in litigation management and a risk management expert, reveals the right way to investigate the facts and complete the incident report. It's not just what you say in the report, but HOW you say it that counts. Train your claims investigators and report writers to know what to observe, how to observe it, what to write and do, and what not to do. This training will multiply your returns on investment many times over in risk management cost savings. Believe it...because Tapper's "done it" with astounding results. Let him teach his winning strategies to your workforce without further delay. |

Deposition
Boot Camp for Executives
|
||||||||||
| Among the
most fearful aspects of a lawsuit against your company is the prospect that
you, as a manager, executive, and officer of the company, will be called
to give your deposition testimony. For those uninitiated, a deposition is where you appear, usually at the opposing lawyer's office, or some other convenient location, to answer, under oath, questions asked of you by the opposing attorneys. Everything you say is recorded either by videotape or in writing or by audio cassette, and sometimes, all of those methods. It's all considered testimony that can be used in court against you and your company. You don't know the questions in advance, you can only anticipate them. Your own lawyer will be there, but is not allowed to coach you to assist in your responses. You're essentially on your own, and it can be scary if you don't know where the opposing lawyers are headed, or the tactics they'll use (sometimes subtle, other times blatant). This is bootcamp for your executives, designed as a "roll-up your sleeves" drill camp to take you through the enemy's tactics and show you how to overcome them. |
